We're off tomorrow to finalise contracts with a few well knows race tracks in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, New York State, Indiana, Michigan as well as a few other states. Then on the 5th June we'll be cruising with thousands of other cool cruisers on the Hot Rod Power Tour from Newton Iowa all the way 1200 miles away to Mobile Alabama. It's gunna be a hoot and we look forward to catching up with a few folk in the hotel carpark parties among other fun things. I just hope the old HQ makes the whole trip. We've brought every spare imaginable including a spare windscreen strapped to the roof lining while it was on the boat from Australia so here's hoping for a safe and enjoyable trip.
Due to popular demand i have just added a Register your interest here above for any visitors that would like to be kept up to date on how Powercruise is traveling in the USA so feel free to fill in what ever you like and make sure you send us some pics of your cars we can't wait to see them.

Ok well finally the answers that i was hoping for. An american insurance company has agreed to insurer Powercruise based on the way we do it here in Australia which as i knew would be hard to get over the line. It's a little expensive but i know just how well the event is perceived and received here as well as the great feedback from some friends all across the USA that i just can't help myself i have to give it a go in the USA. Afterall from what i have seen they certainly have the machinery and a great attitude to go with it so it will be a shitload of fun working with and seeing the look on their faces when they see what we have in store for them at Powercruise.
Elvis the turbo HQ will be hopefully cruising with thousands of tough street machines at the Hot Rod Power Tour in June 2010. i have entered and booked the car in for a few changes as well as taking a few spares to hopefully make the 2000km road trip. This will also serve as a great eye opener to the Street Machiners i hope to be able to invite to Powercruise USA.
Anyone up for a road trip??

Got the good news i have been hoping for today. I now have an insurer that will back Powercruise in the USA which is great. I just have to finalise the costs and no doubt there will be some conditions but they know what we do and how we do it and that's the main thing so onward and upward from here. More final details when they are sorted next week then its time to get on a bomber to the USA to get the party started. Big thanks to Queensland Raceway for their assistance in this matter so thanks to John and Keith.

Well what an effort its been so far and it looks like being harder to get this across the line than i first thought. Basically the lawyers in the USA have got insurance companies scared of looking sideways due to litigation opportunities at every turn. I still have a lot of irons in the fire and a visit to some interested companies in the USA is whats required now. Seems a face to face to make sure i am real is in order as well i have invited a few underwriters to OZ to check out what Powercruise is all about so more news on the whole deal after that happends. Once the insurance is locked up everything else is full steam ahead so more news soon on how its all going....Gup

Well we’ve been for the look at 20 tracks in the USA with 17 of them certainly being exactly what we are looking for. We drove through 23 states, 2 countries, desert heat, snow, $1.80 a gallon fuel (.40cents/L) for 7500 miles (12000km) in 21 days and I am stuffed so I’ll put up some more info on the USA deal real soon but it looks good from here. The intention is to be running the first event in 2010 with announcements this US summer for next US summers events. Insurance as always will be a hurdle but it to looks like it will get over the line otherwise I wouldn’t have gone for a look. All that’s left is financing and planning so who wants to go show the yanks how to do some Powerskids?
