GENERAL INFO

Well, it’s that time again folks for Powercruise One Day Powerplay. And what better place to rip up the straights than the newly renamed and freshly refurbished Sydney Motorsport Park so make sure you got the old faithful cruiser ready to rock and roll because your gunna get 1 Day of pure madness in what’s fast becoming the favourite event for all when we do it all in just 1 day.

You can also watch the compulsory Driver Briefing DVD on you-tube so you can see what is and isn’t allowed to happen on the track in the cruising sessions and events at Powercruise before you submit your entry.

From old school V8 Muscle to Imports to Hot Rods and everything in between, they will all be out in force and with just over 300 entrants making their way through the gates last year, their sure to be eager to get onto the track for the first Powercruise session of the day which will kick of at 8am. Then the Powerskid competition will light up the straight followed by Off Street drags, more cruising, the Hour of Power which funnily enough only goes for half an hour as the best of the best just can’t seem to cop a flogging for a good hour. Then we got more cruising, followed by the burnout comp…

I cant wait to get out there and rip it up again when the main event “Powercruise” kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park February (check out our Event Calendar)

It’s gunna rock…!!!

ENTRANTS INFO

Want to Cruise, Race and Skid your way around Sydney Motorsport Park for 1 day of madness?

To be an entrant at the one day Powerplay you must be 18+, have a valid drivers licence and complete an entry form, if you enter online you will be sent an automated tax invoice & confirmation to the email address on your entry within an hour of submitting your entry. If you don’t receive this email, please contact our office ASAP.

UNREGISTERED CARS

If you have an unregistered car, you will need to send pics via e-mail to confirm eligibility, it is best to email these pics BEFORE you post your entry form to us. Email pics of unregistered cars to office@powercruise.com and make sure you include your name and contact details on the email so we know who’s car it is! Make sure the pics of the car are good, clear, current pictures – remember we can only base our decision on what we see in the pictures. If your unregistered car has been ok’d, you will receive a reply e-mail letting you know this and also asking you to send a printout of the confirmation e-mail with your entry form to us.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Powercruise accepts almost all cars, of any make, model and modification. However all cars need to be clean and tidy looking cars. All entrants must have a current drivers licence, and be 18yrs or older. Learners Permits are not permitted. We will not be limiting the amount of entrants into the Powercruise 1 Day Powerplay. Powercruise operates on a first in first served policy therefore when you send an entry form to us with your car picture attached, we will send you a confirmation email message to let you know we have received your entry and payment and you will be in. It’s as easy as that.

In the event that the weather indicates we may have rain, it is important that you know that we have run in the rain before and Powercruise policy is that we do not cancel the event. We do not postpone the event. We do not offer refunds for any reason including inclement weather as written in the entry conditions on the entry form that you will have to sign. Therefore all entrants are encouraged to come to the event as cruising the track when it’s mildly wet is actually more fun and seeing you wont be able to make smoke, we find more cars all of a sudden have more power than they ever thought they had. While the program may be changed around to suit the conditions, we will endeavor to run all events possible so we can have winners and give out prize money and trophies where possible.

For a comprehensive list of all of the above and more info on Powercruise 1 Day Powerplay see the Event Guide >> Event Guide HERE!

CAR SAFETY INSPECTION

Powercruise is a Modified Street Car Event so therefore cars entered into Powercruise must be of a good presentable standard!   This means cars need to be complete inside and out (includes a bonnet, front and rear bumper bars and tidy presentable interior), and be fully painted (no undercoat), and no panel damage or mis-matched panels. Minimum Modification requirements will apply.

Powercruise is a car show afterall, any cars that don’t meet these standards may either be declined fully, or declined from cruising and limited to the competitive events only.  Acceptance is at the promoters discretion.

All Entrant vehicles must go through a Safety Inspection before being given access to the track. The Safety Inspection will take place in the lanes in front of the Accreditation Office. If you are unsure if your car meets the standards please scroll down and submit your car images via the “Submit Entry Photos” Button in the Car Pictures Section.

It is the Entrants responsibility to ensure your car meets or exceeds the car standards & safety requirements. Even if you have been an entrant before acceptance is not automatic.

THE SAFETY INSPECTORS WILL CHECK THE FOLLOWING ON ALL ENTRANT VEHICLES

  • Basic safety checks of the vehicle including:
    • All Brake Lights in good working order
    • A legal amount of tread on the tyres
    • Battery Clamps (no temporary fixtures)
    • No Fuel or Oil Leaks
    • All Wheel Nuts Secured Firmly
    • Front & Rear Brakes.  You must have rear brakes for the cruise sessions. (exceptions by application for Burnout Only Entries
  • All vehicles must have at least 2 seats (Driver & passenger seat)
  • All Vehicles must have 4 wheels, any open wheel style vehicles must be road registered.
  • Seatbelts must be fitted and in good working order. A seatbelt is compulsory for all drivers & passengers going out on to the track. NO EXCEPTIONS. If your car didn’t come with seat belts and you haven’t had any fitted, it won’t be allowed on track.
  • Fire Extinguisher securely mounted within the vehicle cabin
  • Tail shaft restraint fitted (tail shaft must not be able to fall onto the track surface).  Two piece tail shaft and centre bearing are also acceptable.
  • Windscreen must be in road legal condition
  • No holes in firewall
  • No Body Damage or Structural Rust
  • Enclosed footwear is required for cruise sessions and driving events
  • All Entrants/Drivers/Vehicles are accepted at the discretion of the promoter
  • Powercruise  recommends all vehicles are fitted with an accessible tow point
  • Powercruise recommends against the use of wheel spacers and/or similar products
  • Powercruise recommends the owner/driver of any convertible cars has/uses roll over protection
  • Noise emission must not exceed 95dBa. (Exceptions do apply to some cars, please call for info) while noise is generally not an issue unless there is a complaint, we do ask that all cars run some form of exhaust/mufflers
  • The starting of any vehicles engines using primer bottles (bottle of fuel squirting into induction system of engine) of any kind is strictly prohibited. Anyone who needs to start their car this way will have to redesign their car to start without a primer bottled
  • IF YOUR CAR HAS A ROLL CAGE and you wish to take 3 passengers in the back, all 3 back seat passengers must be fitted with a Lap Sash seatbelt – that is, a seatbelt that secures you across your waist and from across your shoulder.
  • If your car has a roll cage and only the 2 seats on the side of the car are fitted with Lap Sash seatbelts, then you’re OK to cruise with passengers in those seats only .
  • If your car has a roll cage and only the middle seat is fitted with Lap Sash seatbelts, then you’re OK to cruise with a passenger in that seat only.
  • If your car has a roll cage and your seats in the rear have LAP Belts only, then no one is permitted in the rear of the car

Our inspectors will then affix the Entrant Sticker and the “S” sticker so the entrant to proceed to the next stage being the Driver Briefing Video.

The adequacy of seatbelts in the Holden LC and LJ Torana is currently being looked at by the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.  Powercruise is not equipped to check the adequacy of seatbelts.  Consequently and until further notice, Powercruise will not be accepting the LC Torana or some LJ Torana’s unless they were manufactured with 2 bolts holding down 2 front seat belts and not 1 bolt holding down 2 seat belts.

Additional to this, Powercruise will not be accepting any vehicle with 1 bolt mounting more than one seatbelt. If any LC or LJ Torana is presented with harnesses installed and the single bolt system being physically removed, then they will be accepted by Powercruise

EXTRA SAFETY INSPECTION FOR COMPETITION EVENT VEHICLES

The Safety Inspectors will also be checking the following on ALL Competition Event Vehicles:

Competition Events are: Powerskids, Drifting, Off Street Racing & Burnouts

ROLL CAGE RULES

NEW RULES relating to roll cages in cars for cruising at Powercruise. If your car does NOT have a roll cage, then this does not apply to your car.

Any car fitted with a roll cage no matter if it’s CAMS, ANDRA or any other approved method must have roll cage padding on all metal surfaces that are above the dash line of the car; in other words, wherever a person’s head might impact in the event of an accident will require roll cage padding fitted. Soft padding MUST be used and must be about 10mm thick and secured to the metal bars. Drag racing approved SFI padding is NOT permitted as it is designed for a helmet to hit it. Please also take note of the drawing below.

If your vehicle is fitted with a cage that extends through the rear passenger area (as shown by the red lines) you are not allowed any passengers in the rear of your vehicle whether they have the required seat belts or not. If your cage follows the roof line of your vehicle please see the rules regarding seat belt requirements.

Roll Cage Diagram Here

NEW RULES on seatbelts in cars fitted with roll cages now apply.

  1. If your car has a roll cage and you wish to take 3 passengers in the back, all 3 back seat passengers must be fitted with a Lap Sash seatbelt- that is, a seatbelt that secures you across your waist and from across your shoulder.
  2. If your car has a roll cage and only the 2 seats on the side of the car are fitted with Lap Sash seatbelts, then you’re OK to cruise with passengers in those seats only .
  3. If your car has a roll cage and only the middle seat is fitted with Lap Sash seatbelts, then you’re OK to cruise with a passenger in that seat only.
  4. If your car has a roll cage and your seats in the rear have LAP Belts only, then no one is permitted in the rear of the car. The main point here is if you have a cage, then you’re going to have a taxi bar and/or cross over the top bar fitted.
  5. We cannot have anyone in the back seat of a vehicle with a roll cage that does not comply with the above seat belt regulations as, in the event of an accident, the rear seat passenger might hit their head on the taxi bar if they only have a LAP BELT on, so anyone in the back of a car fitted with a roll cage must always have a full Lap Sash seat belt fitted or they will not be permitted to go out in the cruise session

CAR PICTURES

As it says on the entry form, we require a photo of all cars entering into each Powercruise event, this applies to both Registered & Unregistered Cars. You can either print out your photos and mail them with your entry form, or you can fill out your details in the form below, upload your pictures and submit them to us. Using this online form is our preferred method of sending us your car pictures.

Once you have submitted your photos to us you will receive an auto reply email so you know we have got your pictures. We will contact you if there is a problem or if we need more info, so if you don’t hear from us after the auto-reply email that is a good thing! That means your car is OK to enter Powercruise!

If you have problems submitting your pictures here and it doesn’t work, you can email the pictures to us at info@powercruise.com, just make sure you have all of the info on your email that we request above. Please be mindful of the size of the images you send us.

VIP EXPERIENCE

The ViP Experience starts before you even get on the track, where our ViP Liaison plucks you from the safety check line up on your arrival and personally checks your vehicle, providing a fast, efficient and very personal service. You’ll then be directed to the exclusive ViP zone within the pits and allowed to unpack and unload at your own pace, in peace.

ViP Entry is for the discerning enthusiast who wants to make the most of their weekend with the Powercruise crew. No other entry ensures you as much track time as a ViP Entrant sticker, with a dedicated ViP entrance to the cruising sessions ahead of all other queues.

As well as coming and going as you please, you’ll also get front-of-the-line access to all the competition events including the burnouts, off-street racing, powerskids and drifting.

The ViP Experience bundles all your expenses in to one easy to manage payment. It covers yours and your vehicle’s entry costs, a buddy pass and two camping passes so that after a long day behind the wheel you can bunker down and enjoy the Powercruise night life.

With the rise in popularity of garages and carports the ViP Experience is your chance to still get maximum track time at Powercruise, but it’s far better value than a mere second-best option.

VIP ENTRANT PACKAGE IS BOOKED VIA THE ONLINE ENTRY FORM

CARPORTS & GARAGES

What are Pit Carports all about?

Pit Carports are a carport which is about 4m wide and 6m deep. These carports have a roof and they have no walls therefore you can’t lock anything up in them. Pit Carports are simply designed to give entrants wishing to buy 1 the chance to have somewhere to retreat to when your not thrashing your car on the track. Pit Carports are very much sort after because they come with a Pit Lane Access Sticker, or a P Sticker as we call it. This P sticker is like gold and entrants from other Powercruise events will tell you they are hard to come by. We don’t sell the P Stickers on their own. Only Carport and Garage owners will receive them as well as a handful of specially selected cars for various reasons. These cars are sponsors cars and invited guests which we understand you want to see more often so they get pride of place.

The Pit carports and garages are sold on a first in first served basis and each comes with a Pit Lane Access Pass. This enables the entrant to gain instant (no marshalling) access to Pit Lane for all events including cruising. You can cruise the track, come off when you like, fill up with more mates, fuel and nitrous and head out straight away…how good is that

Book Garages & Carports when you Enter Your Car on the Online Entry Form

Once sold out, the option to book a Garage or Carport will be removed from the Online Entry Form.  When booking your garage or carport we recommend that you complete and submit your own form and make payment yourself direct to Powercruise. We cannot be held responsible in the event of disputes, errors or any problems if you had someone else submit your form or payment on your behalf.
